As we progress along our journey we get to be ‘dab hands’ (an old saying for being experienced) at clearing Ascension blocks. For what seems like forever, these blocks get deeper and deeper, more and more painful, harder to shift, with higher stakes and more explosive resolutions.
There comes a point as we approach what we might call the ‘Ascension endgame’ when that changes. First of all, what is the Ascension endgame? In absolute terms there isn’t one. As far as we know, evolution of consciousness, spiritual growth—call it what you will—goes on forever. As J.R.R. Tolkien wrote in The Lord of the Rings, “The road goes ever on and on.”
But in relative terms—that is, relative to humanity’s current ‘spiritual growth spurt’—the road hits a wall. There is a clear and definite marker to aim for: the complete elimination of all polarised (3D) programming from our psyches. This is the first, completely non-negotiable, objective of the Ascension journey.
The pain body
Clearing Ascension blocks is a painful business. This is because to clear a block we have to feel all of the unprocessed pain associated with it (see The mechanics of emotional pain, Part I and Part II.) So Ascension is a process of slowly clearing out the contents of what is sometimes termed our ‘pain body’.
By the time we get close to releasing all our polarised programming we have cleared most of our pain body. Yet we still have age-old pieces of programming ticking away inside us. This is where the shell programs come in. They are pieces of old programming with little or no associated pain. That pain got cleared along with some other block but they’re still going, ticking away like an old clock that nobody remembered to switch off.
Shell programs have a distinctive feel to them, profound yet shallow at the same time, a façade without a building behind them, an empty posture, worn-out habit or obsolete belief drawing its last breaths.
These shell programs can be very deep, often relating to profound feelings of unworthiness—never good enough, can’t pay my way, can’t justify my existence.
You don’t have to do anything different to clear them. Recognise them, accept them then release them and they’re done. And because there is no pain linked to them they don’t give you so much of that whole-body ‘Ascension ache’ while you physically detoxify. This means that seemingly major limitations can surface in a matter of days. There’s a bit of a domino effect as they come tumbling out.
It’s all part of the Ascension fun. Look on the bright side—shell programs show you’re making progress!
