Ascension is a strange process that’s very hard to encapsulate into sound bites. Yet it is a process, which means it has at least some rigidly defined parameters.
One of these parameters is the emotional trajectory of the journey Ascension takes us on. In fact, this journey has three distinct trajectories, or geometric shapes, and we are all familiar with at least two of them.
The hyperbolic funnel
The first—the least known and most important—of these trajectories is the hyperbolic funnel (or hyperbolic parabola). I’ve written about this in a blog called Hyperbolic funnel – the shape of Ascension:
“A hyperbolic funnel is the shape of a black hole in space, a tornado touching down or a whirlpool… a shape that consistently reoccurs when nature is at its most transformational.”
And nothing is quite so transformational, in human terms, as Ascension. Like those devices in museums where you slot in a penny and it circles round and round for ages before accelerating downwards and disappearing, we slowly progress along the Ascension path for years—even decades—before things start hotting up as we approach our core fears, issues and wounds.
The second trajectory is the rollercoaster. This is the day-to-day experience of Ascension. One day you’re crashing through a difficult issue, feeling its pain till you break into the open space beyond… and breathe.
For a little while life seems to come back together, to improve—only for the next issue to smack you in the face and down the rollercoaster you go.
Over time, the peaks and troughs of the rollercoaster get bigger—it increases in amplitude—while the time between the peaks and troughs diminishes. You will ultimately be spat off the rollercoaster when it can’t go any faster; i.e. the time between peaks and troughs is a few scant hours.
The stock market graph
The third trajectory is that of the stock market graph. This graph jags up and down in the short term but—in theory at least—continually rises in the long term.
The stock market graph charts your level of consciousness as you navigate the turbulent process of Ascension.
On any day it may be up or down, depending on where you are on the rollercoaster, but overall your consciousness is gradually rising, depending on where you are on the hyperbolic funnel.
While we’re in the middle of the day-to-day muddle of Ascension, getting flattened by the troughs of the rollercoaster, it can be hard to see that we’re actually making progress—even HUGE progress.
This is where journaling is useful. Keep a record of your big breakthroughs. I mark them in a diary with purple highlighter. Looking back, I can see the peaks and troughs of the rollercoaster and I can also see the long-term acceleration of the hyperbolic funnel; how the frequency and depth of breakthroughs increases while the space between them decreases.
Over time, we can feel our ‘stock’—our level of consciousness and emotional cohesion—rising in accordance with the principles of the stock market graph.
As Ascension accelerates towards its firs major objective—complete emotional cohesion—we get less and less time to appreciate our rising stock, yet there are brief moments when we can deeply feel our new selves emerging from the debris of our past wounds, fears and disappointments.
The trinity of the hyperbolic parabola, the rollercoaster and the stock market graph chart our Ascension journey in geometric terms. Trust the geometry.
